Duke Ferdinand Locken was the younger brother of King Sebastian Locken of Libaterra. While the king ruled from Lutherin, the duke resided in Reign which housed the summer palace of the House of Locken. Ferdinand was responsible for the near extermination of the Itica after he began a campaign against them with help from knights loyal to him and backers from the Clergy of Nergal. Ferdinand and the clergy would often influence the more weak-willed Sebastian's decisions, and Ferdinand effectively became a co-ruler of the kingdom in all but name. By the time Sebastian's son Samiel Locken ascended to the throne after his father's passing, Ferdinand's influence on Libaterran politics lessened, and the Clergy of Nergal fell from the court's favour.
