Jarvis Beasley was the son of Ken Beasley, the proprietor of 250 Club in Grantville, and a maintenance man for Grantville MaidenFresh Laundries. Jarvis did not share many of his father's prejudices. After entering New United States Army, Jarvis met German Hedwig Altschuler and married her. Ken Beasley did not approve of his son's decision which degenerated into a quarrel between father and son.
