The African Fallow Deer is indigenous to forests, rainforests, and savannahs of Africa. It resembles a European fallow deer (its relative), but with more spots on its body and with slightly larger antlers due to competition with antelopes. It feeds on grass, leaves, and berries indigenous to Africa. It is a food source for lions, wolves, hyenas, african wild dogs, jackals, nandi bears, and other predators.
