The Flem Man or Phlegm Man was only seen in the episode Flaming Moe's. He was the first to try the drink Flaming Homer apart from Homer and Moe. He was a customer at Moe's during the time when Moe was struggling to stay afloat. As Moe could not afford beer shipments, barflies stayed away. This man had been playing on a Love Tester machine in the bar and complained it was broken and demanded a refund, notably hacking and coughing whilst doing so. Moe compensated the man's loss by offering him a Flaming Homer on the house. The man commented "Hey, this tastes great, and my phlegm feels looser."
