The 301st Infantry was a unit in the Republic Army's Infantry Division during the Cold War and the subsequent Galactic War with the Sith Empire. Around 3642 BBY, the 301st was deployed to the ice world of Hoth, where they battled the White Maw pirates and later the Imperial military when the Sith arrived in force. A detachment under Sergeant Fideltin Rusk was assigned to the Hero of Tython and Leeha Narezz on their mission to recover schematics of the Sith Emperor's space fortress.
