The Canary Republic' (officially the Popular 'Republic of the Canary Islands, often known as the Canary Islands Republic or simply the Canary Islands) is a survivor republic off the African coast. An island nation, it consists of seven landmasses - Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, La Palma, La Gomera, El Hierro and Fuerteventura. Interestingly, a tourist board, to promote foreign visits to the islands, was established in 2006, although it is yet to come into full function.
