The RG2450MZ and the RG2470MZ were the first RG models produced with maple fingerboards since the 2004 RG1550. Maple fingerboards finally returned in the regular production lineup in 2009 with no less than 10 new RG models, including the RG2570MZ. Other features of the RG2470MZ include a basswood body, DiMarzio IBZ pickups and the Edge Zero tremolo.
