Lightning Web (ライトニングウェブ Raitoningu Webu?) is the Special Weapon that X obtains from defeating Web Spider in Mega Man X4. This weapon is based on Web Spider's ability to create electric webs. When equipped with this weapon, X will fire an electrically-charged web that travels a preset distance before it opens up and stays in place, and acts like a wall for a short period of time - X can then use the Lightning Web to double-jump or wall-jump to reach new heights. Once the Lightning Web has been jumped or wall-jumped from, it will then disappear shortly thereafter. The only time when the Lightning Web can inflict damage to enemies is when it is still in projectile form before opening up.
