Gimald Nuruodo was a Chiss military officer. He believed very strongly in tradition and loyalty to the group. In 19 ABY, Commandant Gimald served as a flight instructor at and commandant of the Chiss military academy in the Rata Nebula. Given the status of that academy and his displays of respect for Kres'ten'tarthi, he may have been in league with the Empire of the Hand. He was killed leading the cadets to their clawcraft in the attack on the academy by the Cavrilhu Pirates.
