Matt Donovan (born May 9, 1990 in Edmond, Oklahoma) is an American defenceman playing for the University of Denver. He played junior hockey for the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders from 2007 to 2009. In 2009 he entered the University of Denver. Donovan played for the United States in the 2008 World Junior A Challenge and the 2010 World Junior Championship, where his team won the gold medals. The New York Islanders chose him 96th overall in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
