Pentam V was a planet located somewhere in the galaxy's Alpha or Beta Quadrants, the fifth planet in orbit of the Pentam star system, in or near the space of the Federation in the mid-23rd century. Pentam V was the homeworld of the Pentamian civilization. In the year 2267, Captain James T. Kirk and Commander Spock visited Pentam V to negotiate for dilithium mining rights for the Federation. After twenty-seven non-stop hours of debate with the Pentamian Assembly, they secured those rights. (TOS - Constellations short story: "Ambition")
