Before Meowstic-ness, Meowstic was an Espurr owned by the late Mia Brown. When the fire started, Mia told Espurr to find her children and use Protect. Espurr obeyed her. Finally, Mia died, leaving Espurr very depressed. William gave her some chocolate in an attempt to console her. Espurr became attached to William, who caught it.
