This is the 1955-56 season of the Cariboo Hockey League: It was the first season of the league under this new name. The league had been known as the Central Interior Hockey League. The Cariboo League was classed as intermediate. However, the league champion Quesnel Kangaroos could not advance to the provincial Coy Cup playoffs because of problems with their player registry.
