USS Claxton (DD-140), named for Thomas Claxton, was a Wickes-class destroyer in the United States Navy. The ship was launched 14 January 1919 by Mare Island Navy Yard; sponsored by Mrs. F. W. Kellogg; and commissioned 13 September 1919, Lieutenant Commander F. T. Leighton in command.
