The Tunnel is part of the main story line in the game Harvest Moon: The Tale of Two Towns . You need to open it back up to complete the game. To open it up you have to win the cooking festivals for your town, then you can get Eileen to repair it for you. You can only repair it once per month, and as it shares the same request as the house renovation request, you can only do one per month. It takes 3 repairs to open up the tunnel completely, and after that you can use the tunnel as a quick way to get to the other town. Also, as you walk through the completed tunnel, you can find valuable metals and gems.
