The University of Edinburgh was a university in the Scottish city of Edinburgh. The Second Doctor claimed to have obtained a PhD in psychiatry from the university. (PROSE: The Juror's Story) Prior to his career as a novelist, Arthur Conan Doyle studied medicine in Edinburgh. During his time there, he was introduced to the Doctor by Dr Joseph Bell.
