The lich is the fifth-tier creature of the Necropolis faction in Heroes of Might and Magic III. It can be recruited from the Mausoleum. As the only ranged creature in the Necropolis army, the lich is of great tactical value. The death cloud attack harms all living creatures adjacent to its target, including friendly ones (though since all Necropolis creatures are undead, this is not often a problem). When facing it, getting into close combat as quickly as possible will reduce its potential damage dramatically. The lich can be upgraded to the power lich.
