Lian Yu (Traditional Chinese: 煉獄; Mandarin pronunciation: ​Liànyù; literally "Purgatory") is an island in the North China Sea where Oliver Queen was intermittently stranded for 5 years, between 2007 and 2012, before he was found by Chinese fishermen. The island is currently used by A.R.G.U.S. as a supermax prison.
