Tarvak Amar was a Starfleet Ensign who was a bridge officer on the USS Defiant. In 2372, Amar was on the bridge of the Defiant when Klingons attacked the ship. Amar broke the humerus in his left arm when the impact threw him out of his chair. Julian Bashir later arrived on the bridge and treated Amar's injury. (DS9 novel: Vengeance)
