The first film in the series revolves around the discovery of the Autobots and Decepticons have arrived on Earth fairly recently and on purpose, operating undercover for at least four years. The story opens with Verity Carlo, a young drifter, and Sari, her younger sister, stealing a businessman's briefcase on a train, that contains (much to their dissapointment) an iPad. Soon after they find themselves stalked by a police car, who turns out to be a transforming alien robot called Barricade, who had been seeking the confidential information the iPad contained.
