Roy Maverick (ロイ.マベリク Roi Maberiku?, lit; Red Dissenter) is currently an extremely influential and powerful Vice Admiral of the Marines who is hailed as a prodigy among his peers. Having stepped up the ranks from day one since entering, Roy worked diligently throughout the years to gain his position, defeating pirate after pirate in order to secure the Marines from invasion. He is highly infamous among pirates, giving him the notorious moniker of Bane of the Sea (海の敵 Uminoteki, lit; Sea's Enemy). However; he isn't one to be indiscriminate against pirates, and has been known to respect some of the greatest figures within the pirates as a result of his encounters.
