About two weeks, with immediate results, but then we changed to canned food and she's been insulin-free since then! 3.) Are you feeding your cat a low-carbohydrate diet? YES!! 4.) Has your cat gone off of insulin? YES!! 5.) Are you considering changing to or from Lantus? If she needs insulin again, it will be Lantus.
