The Balitang family (BAHL-ee-tahng) is the royal family of the Copper Isles, and was elevated to royal status with the ascension of the current head of the family, Queen Dovasary Balitang. Prior to that, the Balitang family was a powerful ducal house, with blood ties to the previous ruling dynasty, House Rittevon. Before the birth of Saraiyu Balitang, the family was full-blooded luarin, or white.
