Otaku Medium Infantry was a male unit of the matriarchal Otaku family. They used large shields, introduced to the Ki-Rin during their many centuries in the Burning Sands, to form an almost solid blanket over the unit as they move, reducing the effect of missile fire. When they joined in close combat, however, the shields were dropped.
