Alberto Coelho better known by Betinho, started his youth career União Lamas and was signed by Sporting CP at the age of 11 years old. During 2011-12 UEFA Europa League, Betinho was called up for Sporting's match against Lazio alongside his U-19 Sporting fellows Tiago Ilori (who was part of the starting 11), João Mário (who eventually played), João Carlos and Ricardo Esgaio. In January 2012 extended his contract with Sporting CP until June 2015, has a buyout clause of 22 M€.
