TMS Entertainment, Ltd., also known as Tōkyō Movie Shinsha and TMS-Kyokuichi Corporation is one of the oldest and most famous anime studios. World renowned for their attention to detail and slick animation, the work of TMS is highly regarded by fans and producers alike. During The New Batman Adventures and Superman: The Animated Series, Timm and his crew began using TMS as an outsourced pre-production unit as well as an animation unit, and they storyboarded and directed episodes themselves. TMS also did the digital black hole effects in the Superman: The Animated Series episode "Absolute Power," although Koko and Dong Yang did the background and character animation. They also storyboarded almost half of Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker in addition to doing the animation.
