Paul Tait spent two full seasons as a Rovers player in 2002–03 and 2003–04, having signed from Crewe Alexandra in the summer of 2002. Paul is a forward, who was signed for the Pirates by manager Ray Graydon, and he was a regular in the side throughout his spell at the club, playing 74 league and 7 cup games, scoring nineteen times in the league and once in an FA Cup tie. By the time the end of his contract had been reached, the management of the club had changed, and he was released in 2004 by new manager Ian Atkins who didn't feel that he was of the required standard to remain at the club. Following his release he signed for Rochdale.
