Marcus Somala was a member of the African Army of Revolution. He joined the AAR to help eradicate the "Anglo" cancer on the African continent. In 1988, he trained at the AAR camp in Mozambique by Vietnamese army advisors. Somala attained the rank of Section Leader and led ten men to Natal Province, South Africa near the Fawkes Farm on a reconnaissance mission. He carved out a hiding post in a dead baobab tree with his Moroccan-style knife. It was from this advantage point that he scouted out the Fawkes Farm and there he witnessed the SADF massacre of the farm. While trying to leave the scene, he was shot and killed from behind.
