The 1998 Lycos.com 300 Presenthed by Valleydale Foods was a Busch Series event held at South Boston Speedway on July 25, 1998. Tim Fedewa won his second and final event of the season, holding off BACE Motorsports teammate Randy LaJoie. It was a crazy race in which points leader Dale Earnhardt, Jr was black flagged late and finished 13th. Even worse, Jeff Purvis was parked to 28th and suspended for four races for slamming Mark Green on pit road.
