The Battle of Berakas happened in 2557. A Covenant ship was found spying on the system by Undarus Outpost Alpha, a survey station on the Undarus asteroid in the Berakas Asteroid Belt. The personnel on the station sent a warning to Berakas Command, which was redirected to all frequencies except FGM frequencies. Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Locklin, the Commanding Officer of the Berakas system, began preparing the populace for evacuation and soldiers for combat.
