District 3 Councilman Bruce Kraus has disbursed Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) allocation to more than 30 organizations. "We focused largely on food banks this year," the councilman said of the disbursements noting that each council district took "$15,000 off the top" for hunger efforts this year. In deciding how to disburse the funding, Bruce Kraus said they also factored in past need. The CDBG funding is used by many other community organizations for operating expenses including supplies and programming.
