The mage's purpose in PvE content is primarily DPS. They can offer utility in the form of the crowd control spell [Polymorph], the party/raid-wide buff [Arcane Brilliance], and the caster buff [Focus Magic]. In addition, Arcane, Fire, and Frost mages can utilize [Arcane Tactics], [Critical Mass], and [Enduring Winter], respectively.
