Orn Free Taa became worried when his homeplanet, Ryloth was taken over by Separatists. He pleaded for help from the king of a neutral planet, King Katuunko of Toydaria. Lott Dod was against his plea, but the king delivered supplies to the planet, but still remained neutral (he joined the Republic afterward). After the efforts of Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Mace Windu, he teamed up with his rival, Cham Syndulla, but only reluctantly after Mace Windu convinces him. They defeated the Separatists, took over the capital city, Lessu, he vowed to take away the clone troopers, and Cham promised not to take power away from him. He attended the parade after the Techno Union leader, Wat Tambor, was captured.
