The son of Helio E. Stern and Serene E. Stern, both of the upper class, he lived a life of luxury until he left home to become a Knight. He is pompous and obnoxious, but means well. He failed the test to become a Knight nine times, until he realized that he didn't need a license to keep Radiata's peace, and christened himself the "Free Knight".
