Light got so used to what he was doing that he started to Believe he was God himself, that he was invincible, so when he realized that someone inferior to him outsmarted him in everyway, he was feeling Doubt, Anger.. all those emotions at the same time, and he just lost himself. He thought without a doubt that he was the Real Kira.
