The unnamed Registrar conducted the marriage service of Gail McIntyre and Michael Rodwell. At his request, she invited Michael to say a few words and he made a heartfelt speech about how much Gail meant to him. She then took the couple through their vows but Gail felt a rush of guilt about the words concerning trust as she was hiding from Michael the fact that the man he thought was his son, Gavin Rodwell, was in fact Andy Carver, a stranger to the family. She had a sudden attack of nerves and couldn't go on with the service. After a conversation with Michael, she changed her mind and the Registrar asked her if she was absolutely certain before continuing. When it came to saying "I do", Gail answered "I absolutely, definitely, 100%, do!"
