IKS Sturka was a Qang-class Heavy Cruiser in service to the Klingon Defense Force in the 24th century. In 2376, Gatrell was captain of the Sturka when the ship was assigned to a mission of exploration and conquest of the Kavrot sector. When Gatrell's failures and cowardice were revealed by General Kriz, Gatrell denied it, and refused discommendation. Kriz then killed Gatrell with his disruptor, and made K'Draq captain of the Sturka. (KE novel: A Burning House)
