The Christmas Stranger is an unnamed character who appears in the cartoon special "The Smurfs Christmas Special". He is a man dressed in a purple cloak who seeks after two children who are the niece and nephew of a man named Edgar, who he seeks revenge upon for meddling in his affairs. On a day that the children, William and Guinevere, are out riding in the forest on a sleigh with their grandfather, he had sent a pack of wolves to overturn the sleigh and cause the grandfather great injury, though he wasn't killed. While the children sought help for their grandfather, the stranger sought help from the evil wizard Gargamel in finding the children, for which he will give him a scroll for finding the Smurf Village and causing great destruction in it.
