In the flashback of the Season Three premiere, "Black Buddha Pt. 1", Nick is on the Titanic, where he is offered the statue by a fellow passenger, Claire Gibson, in return for turning her into a vampire. However, when the ship strikes an iceberg, she decides that this is the result of the curse on the statue, and asks Nick to kill her, instead. Nick later tells Natalie that he will fly the statuette out over the ocean and drop it in, so that it will meet its fate at the bottom of the ocean as it should have when the Titanic sank.
