Lyton was an incubated drone on the cube which recovered Hugh, and was freed from the Collective when Hugh's individuality infected the cube. He later served as Hugh's executive officer on the Liberator. (TNG novel: Greater Than the Sum) Lyton was named for Lytton, a character in the Doctor Who serials Resurrection of the Daleks and Attack of the Cybermen. [1]
