[Source] A stun gun was a personal defense stun blaster that only fired incapacitating stun bolts. Stun guns were quieter than normal blasters, and were used by commandos, spies, and agents during covert missions. Several planets maintained a ban on lethal weapons, but allowed individuals to carry stun guns in their stead.
