Blackwood is shown to be smart, resourceful and virtuous. He holds much respect among his friends and comrades. When Gage is accused of historical sabotage TSA Commissioner Jack Baldwin and long time friend William Daughton both vehemently defended his innocence. Despite his reputation Blackwood has been shown to be a bit of secret slob. Before the events of the first Journeyman Project Gage is shown to be late numerous times to his job at TSA, regularly fell asleep with his nero ocular prostesis on and was repeatedly chewed out by his superior for his ineptitude. Even after becoming famous he still displays some of these traits, an example being how he forgets to erase incriminating messages.
