Ix dbukrii were tiny, soft-bodied parasites native to the Jospro sector. Originally hosted by the nervous system of the Gnithian oep, the ix dbukrii attacked the neocortex of the brain of its host, with the resultant scarring leading to dementia and long-term memory loss. It relied on a nearly-extinct Gnithian insect as its vector, and was unable to spread naturally without it. However, it could be easily and painlessly introduced by slipping it under an eyelid, from whence it would burrow into the brain via the host's optic nerve.
