Like Ramsey in the final version of the episode, Lucas was a marooned Human. However, he can not be clearly mapped onto Ramsey as the story was substantially different, using the gender inequality as an allegory for Apartheid. Consequently, Jones is depicted as the leader of an imminent slave revolt. During the story, he is killed after verbally insulting the planet's leader, at this stage called Victoria rather then Beata, which triggers the revolt.
