The Red Emergency is the historic term given to describe the guerrilla war fought between the army of the Commonwealth of Hutori and the Communist Party of Hutori. The Red Emergency saw the split of the coalition that had brought down the monarchy of Hutori years earlier when the Socialist Party of Hutori formed into the Communist Party of Hutori, taking on a more militant agenda which drew the ire of the rest of the parties who did not want Hutori to become a communist dictatorship but rather a democratic republic as they intended. The Communist Party of Hutori would wage a guerrilla war against the government of the Hutori Commonwealth for several years, resulting in many civilian deaths, and several political assassinations including the death of Prime Minister Eugene Baines.
