A teleportation system used by humans and some other species of Known Space. Transfer booths are about the size and shape of enclosed 20th century phone booths. To use a transfer booth, one enters the booth, closes the door, and punches up the coordinates of the desired destination for instantaneous teleportation. See also: Stepping disk, Transfer booth
