(Also known as Criminal negligence) If you do not take an action to prevent another action, you can be said to be supporting the latter action. For example, if you let your drunk friend drive home after a long night at the pub, and if he hits somebody on the road on the way home, in many countries (such as France), you can be convicted of that inaction (because you could have stopped the crime based on your knowledge of what could happen if he drove home drunk).
