The E-7 Mental Observation Unit—also known as the Residential Mental Observation Unit, Ward E-7—was a cell block in the Bedacus-Lambrecht Correctional Facility on Coruscant. This cell block was reserved for housing prisoners with mental illness who were labeled as being a danger to themselves and others. Doctor Gawynn Karastee was the head of therapy for the cell block. The mental observation unit operated much in the same way as other cell blocks within the facility, only its inmates were on a strict medication and therapy regimen. The unit was also equipped with a holding cell known as the Quiet Room, and treatment rooms, where electroconvulsive therapy would be performed on some of the inmates.
