The subject of homosexuality and the Bible is one in which the Biblical condemnation of homosexual relations has historically been upheld. However, beginning shortly before the sexual revolution of the 1960's, continued attempts have been made to negate the universal injunctions against homosexual relations, and to find sanction for the same. This interpretive conflict is one which is between two fundamentally different positions, these being the traditional/historical position and the latter revisionist, pro-homosexual view. Principal texts are Genesis 1:26,27;; 2:18-24; Leviticus 18, and Romans 1.
