Tectus next Job was killing some would-be Sith on Coruscant. This target called Darth Spuma was the apprentice of another Sith, a Sith who was trained at the Academy of Korriban, Darth Volnus. Tectus killing this Sith-Apprentice impressed Volnus so much that he offered him the ways of the secret Sith. Tectus attacked Volnus, whereupon both dueled each other. As Tectus was beaten by Volnus, he asked Tectus if he would join him know. Tectus was not only excited about the offer, he also had to decide between life and death. Then he joined as a student of Volnus and soon as Master of Novus, a Duro from Taris.
